Long

This little boy is Long, and he is now 7 years old! He has a facial cleft, and has had adoption paperwork since he was 7 MONTHS OLD! I can't believe he is still waiting! His most recent update in his file is not translated into English, but I do have adorable recent photos! An older update refers to him as a happy boy, which his most recent photos certainly show! It also said that he has a good sense of humor, gets along well with other children, and often helps the younger kids. He likes to play with cars, read books, and sing to children’s songs. It says his hearing and vision are normal for his age, but given his facial cleft, a family should be prepared for him to need glasses. He is now living in a wonderful foster home where he will be able to attend school. 

Cai

This sweet boy is Cai, and he is 10 years old (almost 11). His special needs are repaired clubbed feet, and Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. He lives at Little Flower. Cai is very clever and is fairly introverted. He likes to play with children and likes toy cars. He can go to the toilet without help, walk alone steadily (though slowly), make his bed, do laundry, and take a bath alone. He is not choosy about food and likes to eat meat. He was not able to attend school in the orphanage, but a nanny tutored him. Now he is able to attend school. He can make a sentence and have a simple conversation in English.

Ci

Ci is a 10 year old boy with repaired cleft lip and palate. He lived initially in a Church orphanage for a few years, then moved to he main orphanage, and into a foster family. C is shy, and is close to his foster family. He is clever and likes to learn. One update says he is delayed, but then talks about his articulation. Every other update says he is clever. His teacher evaluated him highly, and he is well liked by his foster family. While he prefers the quiet, he also likes to go out biking. He rarely gets sick, but he does go to the dentist frequently. He really likes Ultraman; this is mentioned in all the updates!

Gang

Gang is 11 years old, and has post op. anal artresia and post op. genital malformations. He has now been fully continent for two years (before that he had bowel control, but not bladder). He was originally fostered by a Church orphanage, but after a few years he went to the main orphanage, and then found a foster family. He is well liked by his foster family, friends, and teachers. He is very diligent and willing to help with household chores. He is talkative and has a ready smile. He is an active boy who likes bikes, roller skates, scooters, and playing with his friends.

 

Zhu

This cutie is Zhu, and he is 9 years old (getting close to 10). He has a craniofacial difference. He has had four operations, and now has scarring and needs eye drops to control tears in his right eye. He was abandoned as a toddler, and then was in the care of China Care for his surgeries. He is now in a foster family. He is said to be clever, and can express himself clearly. He is extroverted, determined, and stands up for himself. His file says he sometimes "can quarrel if someone talks about his ugly face" He needs a loving family and friends to support him! He likes watching cartoons, playing with Ultraman, riding his bike, and riding a skateboard.

Lin

Lin is 2.5 and has Down Syndrome, resolved pulmonary hypertension, and postoperative duodenal ileus. He also has had patching for his crossed eyes. He was in a healing home, but his orphanage requested he be returned when his health improved. Luke crawls and scoots. His favorite hangout is to crawl into the bottom of the exersaucer (the saucer part) and hang out there, staring at his hands. He is quiet, and easily entertains himself. Luke is on the shared list.

Does he have any health problems currently?
No problem.
What is his favorite food, and does he eat well?
he likes to drink milk/formula. He loves bottle. He has good appetite. He can also eat some steamed eggs and congee.
How is his sleeping?
He sometimes goes to sleep very late at night. He likes to play in his own bed. He falls in sleep when he’s tired. He sleeps well once he falls in sleep.
Is he able to stand/walk on his own or with help?
No. He can stand up by holding onto handrail.
What is his favorite activity?
He loves to ride hobby horse. He’s very happy on it (see picture).
What is his personality like?
He laughs when his nanny’s holding and playing with him. He’s very quiet. He likes to play alone.
Does he respond to his name?
not really fast.
Is he bonded to his care takers? Who is he closest to?
very close to his nanny.
How is his development compared to his peers (especially those with Down Syndrome)?
his upper limbs are not very strong. He can’t hold bottle and feed himself. But he can sit alone now.
Does he like to be held/cuddled?
Yes.

Alec

Alec is three years old. He has anopthalmia of the right eye, and developmental delays. He is making improvements in his development, but still has significant delays. Alec is currently living in a wonderful healing home and receiving great care, but he needs a family to help him reach his full potential! Alec is on the shared list.
